Don't Be Afraid

The Angel Gabriel was sent by God to Mary, to say, “Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you.” Her mind struggled to accept even as her soul recognized this voice and this message. The Angel said, “Don’t be afraid. Your yearnings are being incarnated in your very being.”  And Mary replied, “How can this be? It’s impossible!” The Angel Gabriel said, “Nothing will be impossible with God.”

Mary’s response changed the world by opening the way to salvation. We are ordinary people, as was Mary.  If we listen for God, we will hear the Angel’s message for us telling us our life purpose: 

• Don’t be afraid. God has heard your deepest yearning.
• Don’t be afraid. God knows your yearning seems impossible. 
• Don’t be afraid. God has been preparing you to bring this yearning to life. 
• Don’t be afraid. God knows the obstacles and challenges.
• Don’t be afraid. God is paving your way with the help you will need.
• Don’t be afraid. With God, all things are possible.

When, like Mary, we reply, “Here I am, the servant of the Lord; let It be with me according to your word,” we find ourselves living our life purpose, our unique way of incarnating God’s love for all creation.

Don’t be afraid. Emmanuel, God is with you. “With God, all things are possible.”
