Sparkhouse Rotation – Elementary Classes
This year’s Sunday School program concludes with Series #5: “The Lord’s Prayer.” The lower-elementary class will be taught by Kathleen Clasen, and the upper elementary class will be taught by Mari Hadden. This series will focus on prayer … God wants to hear our prayers, and we can pray about anything, anytime, anywhere. The program dates are May 8, 15 and 22.
We encourage your child to bring a friend to Sunday School. We look forward to seeing the all kids in class
Rite 13 - Middle School Class: Journey to Adulthood News
Our Rite-13 class continues its unit on sexuality by reading the creation story and discussing what it says about how men and women relate to one another. After looking at what the Bible says about these relationships, we encourage the students to think about their OWN feelings, asking questions like, "Do you feel superior or inferior to boys/girls in any way"? If so, we explore why. We will also talk about stereotyping and prejudice and how this can create barriers in our relationships with others. Perhaps most importantly, we will talk about decision-making and try to give the class the tools to make the best possible decisions as they experience the often-tumultuous time of adolescence. As always, I look forward to hearing the fascinating perspective of this wonderful group of kids!
