6:30 pm - TRANSGENDER DAY OF REMEMBRANCE

Sunday, November 22, 2015, 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM

FROM THE TRANSGENDER DAY OF REMEMBRANCE COMMITTEE:

Transgender people identify as a different gender than the one assigned to them at birth. This is a variation of nature, but society is still evolving to understand it. Transgender people deserve love and respect for who they are.

In America in 2015, there have been 21 reported cases of murder committed as an anti-transgender hate crime. It's time to end this hate and build bridges of understanding. Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR) honors the memory of those lost to hatred and violence because they had the courage to live as their authentic selves.

There is so much to learn from hearing people share their experiences. Please join us as Transgender Long Islanders share their stories with voice and song. This event will be hosted by The Episcopal Church of St. Margaret (1000 Washington Ave., Plainview, NY 11803) on Sunday, Nov. 22 at 7 p.m.
