“THANKSGIVING SUNDAY” – NOV. 19

For the past few years, on the Sunday before Thanksgiving Day – which I’ve named “Thanksgiving Sunday” – we have asked each parish family to bring a few food donations to church that day for the St. Ignatius Food Pantry in Hicksville.

We are hoping to collect a sizable number of donations to bring to the Food Pantry before Thanksgiving so that those who are struggling can get food to make their own Thanksgiving dinner special, also.

This year, instead of dropping your food in the basket in the Narthex when you come in, we are encouraging parishioners to bring your donated items with you to your pew. At the offertory, everyone will be invited to come to the altar and fill the sanctuary with gifts of food.
