Summer Altar Guild Update
After a very busy spring, preparing the sanctuary for worship during the seasons of Lent, Holy Week, Easter, and also Pentecost and Trinity, our St. Margaret’s Altar Guild (the “Best” in the Diocese of Long Island*), is to able to rest a bit during the long Green Season of Pentecost. Altar Guild members don’t think of the seasons of the year as winter, spring, summer and fall, they think of the seasons of the Church year as Advent, the start of a new church year, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Holy Week, Easter and Pentecost and they know the color of each season, too.
The Altar Guild has 8 members who are divided into 4 teams. Each team serves one week each month. Preparing the altar for the Eucharist each Sunday is not a job, it is a very rewarding Lay Ministry. We also have 4 auxiliary members who are always ready to help whenever called upon. Our Flower Guild has 4 members who prepare the flowers to beautify the altar each Sunday. Do you love flowers and enjoy arranging them? Then this could be the place for you! If you would like to join the Altar Guild or the Flower Guild, please speak to Mother Christina or an Altar Guild member. You will surely see a member clearing the sanctuary on Sunday mornings after the Eucharist.
We would love to have you join us.
