HEALTH AND WELLNESS - SEPTEMBER

JOURNEY TO WELLNESS CONTINUES

SEPTEMBER 2019

Yoga and Tai Chi Keep Us Blooming Inside and Out

Our hands-on quest for health gains more enthusiasts each time we meet. Seventeen parishioners and friends of St. Margaret’s gathered in the Undercroft in August for “Mindful Yoga” with Theresa of Body & Soul Yoga Studio in Huntington, and a talk on health. Seated comfortably in chairs, we learned postures, twists and stretches to use for proper balance, awareness of our space, stance, mobility and internal organ health. Theresa shared homemade protein bites and a tasty drink flavored with ginger, turmeric, black pepper and lemon.

Following a circle of centering prayer and meditation, it was time to enjoy the outdoors. Fr. Isaias and Christie led us in the graceful, flowing movements of Tai Chi and Qi Gong. We finished our afternoon back in the Undercroft with more refreshments and fellowship. Our next event will be held this fall … please join us as we bloom together in body, mind and spirit!

2018 HEALTH & WELLNESS ARCHIVE:

Yoga and Tai Chi Classes Continue - June 2018

Have you noticed a new bounce in the step of any of your pew partners lately?

In May, a dozen happy St. Margaret’s parishioners and several visitors enjoyed easy, chair yoga exercise led by Theresa of Body & Soul Yoga (Huntington). She led a program tailored to our abilities. Christie Ginson then taught a fun introductory class of Qi Gong and Tai Chi on the back lawn. Centering prayer, meditation and light refreshments completed the program. We hope to meet once more this summer. Come and join us as we align our bodies, minds and spirits with the flowering we see all around us.

Stay tuned!
