CONFIRMATION PREP CLASS UPDATE: JAN 2017

Putting Faith Into Action

Confirmation Prep Class

Our older kids are learning about their confirmation covenant and have attended activities that support their beliefs such as attending an Interfaith Service (“strive for justice and peace among all people and respect the dignity of every human being”), hosting coffee hour (“continue in the apostles' teaching and fellowship”) and Christmas caroling (“seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving your neighbor as yourself”). In class they have also had a fun exercise of sharing mementos and pictures from their own Baptisms, and discussing what Baptism means and how it relates to Confirmation. More recently they have been learning about the church calendar and “seasons,” what colors mean to the church, the difference between Rite I and Rite II, and the different parts of the church service.

Program Overview –

Our Confirmation Prep Class will prepare participants who are ready for Confirmation this year, and is also a good option for your child if you decide he/she is not old enough to be confirmed at this time. This class will delve into what it means to be an Episcopalian, what it means to be confirmed, what the Bible is all about, and a review of key bible stories and their current relevancy in our lives.
