ST. MARGARET'S CEMETERY - JANUARY

Thank You to ALL who helped!

It has been a busy few weeks in the cemetery office with grave blankets being ordered and preparations being made for our annual Christmas Cemetery Memorial services. We set a new grave blanket record of 285 pieces ordered and placed in the cemetery. I would like to thank all those who came out in the cold temperatures on the morning of Dec. 8 to assist in placing the grave blankets. Special thanks go to Will S., who directed the group effort with me, as well as George H., Mason K., Dan McG., Ken R., Charlie S., Richard W. and one of our cemetery families, the Trurans, who come annually to assist. A wonderful effort by all!

On Saturday, Dec. 15 we held our annual Christmas memorial services at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Both services were well-attended with approximately 100 people at each service. Our cemetery families always mention how much they appreciate and enjoy these special Christmas memorial services. They are very meaningful to our families. Again, a big thank you to all of the parishioners who assisted at these special services as ushers, readers or prayer readers; Jane A., Barbara A., Lois B., Barbara H., Kim I., Jacquie P., Dan McG., Ken R. and Will S..

I would also like to give a shout-out thank you to the following people who supported me with the autumn cemetery mailing and assisted with the folding of the cemetery Christmas memorial multi-page service bulletins. These were tremendous tasks and I would not have been able to get the job done without the support of the following individuals: Jane A., Lois B., Barbara F., DeeDee F., Christie G., Fr. Isaias, Barbara H. and Christine K.. If I have missed anyone – please forgive me!

I wish you and your loved ones many blessings in the new year. And as we close out the year – if you haven’t done so already – why don’t you make 2019 the year you purchase your plot at St. Margaret’s Cemetery?
