Your help is needed to extend our outreach in the community.

PB&J Event on Wednesday, May 17 at 7 p.m.

Please join us at Plainview Reformed Church in Old Beth-page as we make PB&J sandwiches for the Inn in Hemp-stead. As you know, we make between 450-500 sand-wiches in 45-50 minutes to feed people in need. The time together is short but the need is certainly great! The more hands, the less time it takes. This is a wonderful event that brings together all ages. Please help us to spread not only the peanut butter and jelly, but the word of God’s Love!

I look forward to seeing you all there!

It seems the food basket in the Narthex has been looking kind of empty lately – with maybe a cereal box here and there or a few boxes of pasta. Did you know that food pantries on Long Island can’t keep up with the number of people who are reaching out for help? We’re not just talking about poor or homeless people; middle class families are showing up as well. So please make note of any sales you see in local food stores and grab a few extra food items to bring to church on Sunday mornings. If we each made an effort to bring in one bag of non-perishable food items, our food basket would be overflowing and Ken might have to make several trips to the St. Ignatius Food Pantry in Hicksville. But I don’t think Ken would mind.

Nobody deserves to be hungry.
