Open Enrollment: Your child is welcome!! November Classes: Nov. 5 and 19

Our Sunday School program is off to a great start this year. Thank you to all our volunteers, students and parents for your participation!

We kicked off the program year with “Jonah and the Big Fish.” In this story, we discovered how God comforts and saves us when things look dark and how God gives us second chances. Thank you to Barbara Archer for leading the children in their understanding of this story.

I will be teaching our next series, “Four Friends,” on Nov. 5 and Nov. 19. In this story, we will learn about four companions who took their friend to see Jesus for healing. In class, we will discuss friendships, how we can help others and creative ways to assist others. God helps us find ways to help others.

Please join the class for any dates you can make! Because we review the same story for a few weeks, you can join in at any time.

If you are interested in the Sunday School Program and would like to receive a letter with more details and our full 2016-2017 schedule, please contact me. We can also send our letter to friends, neighbors and family members who may not be already connected to St. Margaret’s.

Looking forward to having everyone in class!

Program Overview – Our Bible Story class will study five different stories over the course of the year. Each story will be explored for several weeks using the Sparkhouse Rotation curriculum. In every class session, the children will open an age-appropriate Bible and explore the story using various methods that accommodate the many ways that children learn including art, Bible skills and games, cooking, creative drama, music, science and/or video. Each series will be taught by a different member of our congregation and may be facilitated by other volunteers from the congregation that we call shepherds.

From Fr. Isaias:

Do you know any kids who want to learn about the Bible and Jesus in an age-appropriate and special way? Invite them to Sunday School at St. Margaret’s!

In our children’s program, kids meet friends and get to know God through an exciting time of worship, Bible stories and small-group time. For this year, I would like to emphasize the three basic truths that will guide each one of us:

1.) I need to make the wise choice.
2.) I can trust God no matter what.
3.) I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
